You can find everything necessary to start using the phone in the box; portable battery charger, USB Cable, Handsfree ear set, LG software for your pc, battery, user manual & the phone itself. My first impression when I held the phone was the cheap quality of the materials, the keypad is rubbery (which I consider positive). However, there aren’t any defects on the finish. The multi-connection port cover & the memory slot covers are really fragile, frequent usage will definitely make them pull off. But personally its not a problem for me. The phone is really light (battery included) and it fits your hand perfectly. The keys are big enough for typing quickly with ease.

After charging the phone for only 30 minutes and turning it on, it shows full battery and everything is perfect. The screen resolution is good and the dull looking keypads are great when they light-up.

The menu is clear enough for a beginner to get through the phone. The keypad is a little noisy with its “click” sound, this is specially annoying when typing messages. I tries the back and front cameras and they are quite good for a 1.3 MP one. Here are some shots that I’ve taken:

The maximum resolution of the cameras is “1280 x 960”. The resolution can be reduced to allow zooming, it is to be noted that zooming is not possible at “1280 x 960” resolution. There are also other options for the cameras; frames, night mode… & quality. The cameras can also be used as video recorder, the quality of the videos recorded are good. The phone badly needs a flash, because the cameras perform badly due to the slightest lack of light.

Concerning the audio capabilities, they are way better than that of Nokia’s Phones. The loudspeakers are loud & clear when playing back MP3’s & MP4’s files. The equalizers are useful for the optimisation of different musical styles. However when you plug-in the ear set, the sound is not as loud and the sound output quality is bad. Furthermore, the ear set itself appears really cheap and is not ergonomic. One more thing about the sound, is that when you crank up the volume, the cheap casing of the phone vibrates causing undesirable noise.

The installation of the LG Mobile phone driver & software is simple, after that you just have to plug in the USB cable, run the connection wizard and you’re done. You can copy file from you PC to your mobile and vice versa only by the use of the Mobile Phone’s software file explorer. The memory is limited to 10Mb, but can be extended by Micro SD cards.

There’s also other functions like many other mobile phones; calendar, alarm clock, games, organiser, calculator,…You can also receive & send emails, browse the net,…functions that normally all 3G phones have (Bluetooth, GPRS,…)

Overall I would rate this mobile phone 3/5. It is a good entry level phone, you can enjoy the functions of a 3G phone without drying your wallet (Rs.5,000), and its well named “3G For All”.
